Highlighting Acts of Generosity
Beginning today, we’re amplifying acts of good on Instagram. Accounts you follow who use the “I Donated” or the “Donation” sticker will be added to a shared story at the front of your Stories bar for a limited time. On @instagram and @creators, we’re spotlighting a number of creators who are helping make a difference in their community and sharing tips on how you can give back, whether it’s through volunteering, making donations or simply making a kind gesture to someone in need.
Introducing a New Way to Support Nonprofits
Soon, we’ll begin testing a more permanent way for people to create and share fundraisers for nonprofits within their Feed. With this new feature, people can link to any eligible nonprofit directly within their Feed post.
Supporting Small Businesses
There are also plenty of ways you can show love for your favorite small businesses on Instagram — whether it’s using our “Support Small Business” or “Buy Black” stickers on Stories to highlight businesses to your followers or ordering food directly from your favorite local restaurant via Instagram. The @shop account also showcases the people behind your favorite businesses and allows you to shop directly from the app to show support.
From @theconsciouskid using their platform to promote racial equity in education, to @ohhappydani raising money to create allyship artwork for educators across the US, to small businesses like @expeditionsubsahara selling authentic African goods by African artists to fund a girls’ STEAM school in Senegal, we’re excited to see our community extend these efforts through Giving Tuesday.
